On request of the Southern Provincial Government and the Local Authority of Ambalangoda in Galle District of Sri Lanka Nagenahiru geared its activities related to the Early Childhood Development, The target beneficiaries for this action is the under privilege families of Cinnamon Plantations in Galle district.

The development objective of the Early Child Education and Development Center which was built in Thilakapura in Ambalangoda DS division is to improve poor children’s overall development and readiness for further education, within a sustainable quality ECED system. The project is rated ‘satisfactory’ on both project development objectives and implementation progress. Most of the performance indicators have been met, and in some instances targets have even been exceeded.

This Early Childhood Education and Development Center was constructed with the funding support of the European Union is fully equipped with all necessary facilities including class room furniture, educational materials , children play ground etc and implemented with the close collaboration of the Local Authority of Ambalangoda.
